How it all started
Cotton Briles founded Houston Empire Electric in the post-war housing boom of 1957. He and his wife Loris built a business and a family in Spring Branch. Their son Joe came next — still connected to the shop today — and the next generation, Cody and Carson, grew up in the trade and returned to run the family business.
Cody's wife Stephanie left teaching in Spring Branch ISD to join as office manager. The company keeps old-school habits on purpose: paper tickets, family members on the phone, and relationships that last decades. Many customers have been with us for 40 or 50 years.
We do residential remodel and new construction, portable generator setups, panel work, and careful finish electrical — along with the service calls and replacements that keep Houston homes running. No job too big or too small.
